Sustainability

Introduction

We are working to close the loop on the circular ecosystem for printed electronics by working at both end of the product life cycle.

Our Commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

At Ail Arian, we are deeply committed to creating sustainable solutions for the printed electronics industry. Our mission aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), guiding how we innovate, educate, and operate. Through our products, programmes, and partnerships, we aim to contribute meaningfully to global efforts in sustainability, circular economy practices, inclusive education, and responsible innovation.

SDG 4 – Quality Education

We believe the transition to a circular economy must begin with education. The Ail Arian Outreach Programme is our flagship educational initiative, designed to engage and inspire primary and secondary school students. Delivered through interactive workshops, our sessions educate young people about the environmental impact of electronic waste, the critical role of recycling, and the promise of sustainable materials. We introduce students to real-world STEM applications, using our recyclable silver inks as a teaching tool. By fostering early interest in science, sustainability, and technology, we aim to nurture the next generation of green innovators and engineers.

SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Innovation is at the core of everything we do. Our product line, ReSilver, is a recyclable, silver ink that delivers high conductivity (800 kS/m) and low sheet resistance (0.05 Ω/sq) across various substrates. ReSilver represents a significant advancement in sustainable materials for printed electronics, providing manufacturers with a reliable, high-performance alternative to traditional conductive inks. We also invest in R&D to improve formulation efficiency, scalability, and recyclability, helping build a more sustainable infrastructure for the electronics industry.

SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production

Ail Arian champions circular design principles. Our closed-loop approach to silver recovery enables the reuse of valuable metals from electronic waste, significantly reducing dependency on virgin silver extraction. We’ve developed an unique recycling method that reclaims silver without generating toxic byproducts, eliminating hazardous solvents typically used in refining processes. This helps minimise landfill waste, conserve raw materials, and lower the environmental footprint of electronics production from start to finish.

SDG 13 – Climate Action

The electronics industry is a major contributor to carbon emissions and pollution. Our recyclable inks reduce reliance on energy-intensive, non-renewable materials, while our faster-drying formulations lower energy use in curing processes, streamlining manufacturing and reducing emissions. Additionally, by eliminating harmful substances from our recovery systems, we protect ecosystems and support climate-resilient industrial practices.

SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

As a family-run business, we are committed to creating a workplace culture rooted in fairness, respect, and sustainability. Ail Arian provides ethical employment opportunities in the emerging green tech sector, supporting skilled work and local economic development. We prioritise diversity, safe working conditions, and career progression. By growing a values-led company, we aim to demonstrate that eco-friendly practices and economic opportunity go hand in hand.

SDG 14 – Life Below Water

E-waste is one of the fastest-growing pollution challenges globally, with silver and other metals often leaching into waterways and harming marine life. At Ail Arian, we take a proactive stance to prevent this. Our recovery processes ensure that silver from our inks is captured and reused, rather than entering aquatic ecosystems. Because we use no toxic chemicals in our extraction methods, our solution helps reduce ocean pollution, protect biodiversity, and safeguard the health of rivers and seas for future generations.
